Boric Acid powder is poison - at least to dogs, cats and human children.
There was much discussion years back about using it to kill roaches,
waterbugs and the like. It was always followed by a warning to put it
where none of the above could get in contact with it. I would be very
careful about using it in any traffic area or any place where the birds
would be in contact with it, including the dust that will surely occur
if you dust the carpets.
