One way is to retain a global variable of the saved ss, say ss_1,
and then modify ss_1 by whatever you select in the process of
getting ss1. To add a new ss1 to the ss_1 you would use a series of
(ssadd e ss_1) where e is the entity name from each (ssname  of ss1.
