Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if he were wearing some sort of back
brace or hearing aid equipment.  The former in particular could relate to
his crabby appearance in the first debate.  Vanity being what it is, we
would never hear about either until much later.  Look at JFK (the real
deal, that is).
