KD> The documentation to gcc mentions "ANSI trigraphs". ... KD> What use are they and when did they become standard ? Trigraphs exist because not all systems in which C may be used incorporate the entire ASCII character set. How do you write in C when your character set does not have any curly braces? You have to remember that C is supposed to be available across a wide range of devices. If you really know how to program in ANSI C, then you should be able to program a toaster, a coffee maker, or a robotic production control as easily as you make a simple text processor on an ordinary PC at your own desktop. > ]* Origin: *YOPS ]I[* 8.4 GIG * RA/FD/FE * Milwaukee, WI (1:154/750) SEEN-BY: 396/1 632/0 371 633/260 267 270 371 634/397 635/506 728 810 639/252 SEEN-BY: 670/218 @PATH: 154/750 222 396/1 633/260 635/506 728 633/267 |
