General rule of thumb I've seen is to set the aperture to twice the 
card's RAM, so in your case, 64MB.

Not even sure if performance under OS/2 or eCS would be affected by this 
setting - never tested it to find out.

Hope this helps (if only for knowing the "usual setting").
