William,

Correct me if i'm wrong for I only intend to be enlightened.

I have heard that the IBM 686 is about 2 generations older than the
Cyrix chip and that AMD (?) chips should be laughed at heartily and
promptly stood upon....very roughly.

I am trying to work out the best and cheapest way for me to upgrade my
struggling 486/DX2/66 and would appreciate honest advice which, sadly,
is hard to find.

Brian.
