-=> Quoting William Cook to Glenn Alderton <=- WC> Hi, WC> If you did'nt already know this, the reason most 64 bit Video cards WC> don't run on 586's is that they are 64 bit and 586's run on a 32 bit WC> external data path. 586's are just beefed up 486's. WC> cya William, Correct me if i'm wrong for I only intend to be enlightened. I have heard that the IBM 686 is about 2 generations older than the Cyrix chip and that AMD (?) chips should be laughed at heartily and promptly stood upon....very roughly. I am trying to work out the best and cheapest way for me to upgrade my struggling 486/DX2/66 and would appreciate honest advice which, sadly, is hard to find.
