actually they haven't been absorbing any TV since late spring, just stuff
they can download from the internet because I turned the TV off.
I had intended to keep it off till after Nov2nd but with the purchase of an
HDTV last week (price was right) I ended up hooking up the outside antenna
again so I could try 1080i from the local stations to see what it looked
like. We only get 3 local stations here so they haven't spent any time
watching TV fortunately.
but to answer your question, no, it's not balanced impressions, it's mass
programming. Turn the TV off for 6 months leading up to christmas and then
ask the kids what they want for christmas if you want to see an extreme
example of this in action. It's a real eye opener.
