The annoying thing is that if they had just socketed a couple of
components, it would have been a user-fit upgrade. If you can find someone
with surface rework equipment, they could do the upgrade easily.

I was thinking of Diamond, actually, although there are several brands
which cover that price bracket. They are mostly brands [and I won't mention
names] which undercut their dealers by selling direct at below-wholesale
prices though.
