I've just recently brough a X-Link V.34 +v.FC Internal modem.

Up until now I have been using a netcomm smart modem 1234SA (2400 Eeck!)
Well at least that always gor me its to speed of 2400.

When using the X-link 28.8K I was shocked to see that it only connected at
¨28800 on some boards. But always on the same boards.
i.e
flashpoint = always 28.8K
kis bbs    = 21600  24600
+ other boards will do the same.

Is this my init string which I have setup in telix, or is this what the
modem ¨will always do.
 Hope some help can help me with my new modem.
