Greetings and felicitations Mr Commando sir,
CC> But anyways. To stay on topic. Freeworld was written in QB45. But now
CC> is coded for PDS 7.1. It uses QBSERIAL with my own door routines. One
CC> thing i never could figure out was the backspace over the modem. So, in
CC> FREEWORLD(using PORTAL) u can't erase or backspace anything entered.
CC> ACK! It was a pain to test and change, so i kinda gave up. Might even
 CC> be a simple fix. I dunno.
When I was at college we had to write a simple asm program on an
Atari ST and the only access we had to the screen was via VT100 codes.
Now VT100 doesn't support backspace either but it was simple enpugh to
overcome. What you have to do is is as follows:
    1. Send the ANSI sequence for cursor left one place.
    2. Send a space character.
    3. Send another cursor left one place sequence.
And you should now have successfully emulated issuing a simple
backspace command. Don't forget to update your data while you're at
it .
Hope this helps.
Byeee, Nigel.
