HF> The serial killer is dubbed the HOG because of how he signs his notes.
HF> Has nothing whatever to do with bacon. ;) Has an interesting twist.
HF> And it didn't dwell too long on the gore. A good fast-paced read.
FR> Ah, yes, nothing like a touch of gore to liven a book. Glad to hear
FR> that, as I'm usually repulsed by excessive gore.
As am I. I won't say any more, as I'm tempted to blurt out a spoiler.
Meanwhile, I recently finished Ruffly Speaking by Susan Conant and
started The Down East Murders by JS Borthwick. The first Susan Conant I
read was Dead and Doggone, which I hated, but I finally went back and
read A New Leash On Death and was pleasantly surprised to realise that
the grisliness of D&D was an isolated example. The others in the series
are quite nice in comparison.
Weird thing about the edition of the Down East Murders is that the
copyright is listed as 1954 under another name, even though this is
obviously the second book in that series and had to have been written 30
years after that, judging by the technology.
