And so it came to pass, on 06-10-97 00:22,
that Keith Knapp spake unto Bonnie Goodwin:
KK> I've heard from people who say that Usenet has more variety, but
KK> the signal has slowly disappeared into the noise. Moderated
KK> conferences _are_ better.
Agreed.
[snip]
KK> Did I done good, or is there a better method?
When I took a series of audio courses several years ago, one of the first
things impressed upon me by the first instructor in the first engineering
class (whew! lotta firsts there) was that "There are no rules, only
guidelines." (That instructor was David Myles Huber, probably best-known as
the author of Modern Recording Techniques and other books).
In other words, if it works... don't argue with it, whether it's a "good"
design or not. The proverbial proof is, after all, in the pudding.
KK> Should the 'star ground', chassis and all, be connected to the
KK> third wire on the AC cord? I think the smartest thing I did for
KK> reducing hum was to put the AC transformer in a separate box in the

Excellent idea.
