Well, frustratingly, I opened a letter I got from Intuit today and
discovered that they're shutting off my merchant account service (for
credit card processing) unless I upgrade to QuickBooks 2008.  I tried
to do that and it completely hosed QB on my system, and nothing I do
seems to help.  In addition to that, Windows appears to have become
corrupted as well in the process.

I'm now evaluating switching to a Mac-based accounting package
(QuickBooks on the Mac doesn't support credit card processing, but
MYOB FirstEdge does, so I'm checking that out).  This is going to
unfortunately delay order processing by at least a couple of days. :(
