Hi Christoph,
(Assuming that the archives are <= 2GB each)
After creating the archive with ZIP, [I use 'zip -r -S "{fully qualified
target archive}" "{fully qualified source spec}" [e.g. D:/*] -- to
recurse and include all system+hidden files] run the following commands
against it:
[options ARE case-sensitive!]
1. "{zip-path}\zip.exe -T {archive just generated}" - this will validate
the entire archive.
2. "\unzip -t {archive just generated}" - this
will validate
every individual file in the archive.
3. "{unzip-path}\unzip -l (
{named listing file of archive contents -- I use "archive-name.DIR"} --
this will generate a listing with file timestamps and sizes (+EA+ACL
sizes) plus totals of same -- for when you may want to selectively
restore specific files/directories.
This just about guarantees that you don't rely upon a generated "bad"
ZIP file.
I just use a "templated" generic .cmd file that includes all the above
steps, with a PAUSE between each individual command, and "%" parameters
in the .cmd file's properties for source & target etc.
Saves nasty surprises! ;-)
Regards,
Mike
