  I am running BlueWave under XP with no problems.  I have a shortcut
  that I keep in a folder on my desktop that I use -- with very standard
  settings.

  I also have 4NT installed, but I doubt that has any bearing.

  Feel free to tell him to send me an email for consutation if he wants.
  I could email him a copy of the shortcut if he (she) likes.  It is
  possible the problem is in some other setting, e.g. links to the
  compression program.
