Writing???? Sounds like learning and school to me. Using a computer to learn 
DOS? Sounds productive and learning to me. Using the computer to do 
educational games? Sounds like learning to me.

If this is the rough draft, the next part of the process (after they're done 
getting all of their thoughts down on paper/computer) is editing. Not every 
piece of writing needs to be edited right away, tho. Sometimes you can file 
it away in a writing folder and have them pick it apart later. Some you will 
never edit. Others you will.
