I never saw the patch, I'll have to keep my eyes open wider!

That's good news. I might just have to go back and update again before I get too deep in.

I was using the git version on a slackware-current live DVD. I didn't check the version but slackware current tends to be upto date.

When I did the git clone of grub it grabbed the source from master. When I ran ./configure it said I needed gnulib (if I remember correctly). I wasn't sure where to get that or how to build it, or if it would work so I bailed.

Sure wish I new about or saw the patch!
