Hi Dave,

Yes, I used a second piece of the sonotube inside, which slides on the main
tube. When I went to the Home Depot they only had four foot tubes and I
needed at least a five foot tube. I hunted through the stack until I found
two with the same diameter(9.5inches supposedly 10 inch sonotube). The
secondary section is 1.5 feet long and I cut the primary down to 3.5 feet.
The inside slide section was made by cutting a section of the circumference
out of a 1 foot section of sonotube. I glued it inside the secondary
section of the tube and it is also held in by the screws from the spring
clips. The hard part is on the primary section where the little metal clips
that the spring clips pull on are right near the edge of the tube. The
screws have to be counter sunk into the cardboard so they don't interfere
with inside part sliding in. I used crazy glue on the edge to strengthen
the cardboard(An idea I think got off this list). You just let the glue
soak into the edge of the cardboard and let it dry. I haven't any trouble
losing collimation. Your mileage may vary.

Clear skies

Paul
