Mel

I am embarking on the mechanical design of a remanufactured 12" which
I am going to use as a prototype for a 24" mirror that I recently
acquired. I am very interested in the Tridob, but would like to see more
details of the bottom end and bearing arrangements that you have come up
with. I have the pictures posted from the Oregon Star Party but are there
any others, either posted elsewhere or could you send me some? I am
interested in the mounting arrangements for the alt bearings, particularly
the centre one.

Regards

I haven't seen any recent progress reports on your Tridob concept. Are
there any more pictures apart from those taken at a star party a few months
ago? How's it going? <<<

I think the mount is a winner in that it as stable and more simple than a
traditional dob. The key is that the stability must only reside in the
bottom ground ring - the rest of the mount is flexible on purpose.

As to my two tridobs - the 6 inch is in use and the 20 inch is (still)
awaiting the install of my 6 wire spider design. I've kindof put it off
for a couple of months because of intensive effort on software.
