The implication, was that anything called up by the TCP stack, by name
rather than address, would (if not the local machine) need to have a name
server running to translate it. Even your own machine takes advantage of a
name servers running on it to speed up access to your tcp stack, even
though the local host name is set...

Just a thought though....
