| subject: | ATM Figuring Question??? |
From: "David Stevens" To: "ATM" Reply-To: "David Stevens" My question is: What stroke, tool size, position MOT or TOT should I use now?? I have been working for three weeks on and off COC MOT for probably 4 hrs total. I have been working 5 min and then pressing 5 min and finally I am happy to report the edge is making a comeback. It's not quite there yet. The right side is still quite a lot brighter than the left side but a least its coming back. I probably have a couple hours to go but I am encourage. I first used the classic MOT long W stroke to parabolise but that didn't seem to get me to full correction. Then I used accented pressure TOT which got me a lot closer (.96 strehl) but the edge slowly turned. The mirror is 8" F/3.9 I am using medium Gugolz and ambient temp is right around 70 deg. I'm using Cerium oxide and a full size tool. I also have a 4" tool for subdiameter figuring. I am using a slitless foucault and the light source is moving and on the right. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave Stevens --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP* Origin: Email Gate (1:379/1.100) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
