Yes there are even virus written in the DOS BATCH language and let 
us not forget the MS-Micro virus(there was an infection of the ms- 
macro virus at work had the virus alert sounds made the office 
sound like we where watching star trek reruns!).  And by the way 
there are compilers for basic, MS-Quick Basic, The older Turbo 
Basic, and Power Basic and many others.
