   Perhaps that's why this echo is down to a measly 7-10 messages a
day.  Back in 1990, when I first started hanging around here, it was
a rare day that less than 120 messages were posted.

  Given the dying state of this echo, IMHO OS and hardware specific
questions should be *encouraged*.   After all, there's always C.L.C for
the ANSI puritans.  :-)>
