MS> I don't think we'll get Gretzky back either. I
MS> don't know about the ticket
MS> prices in Vancouver. The closest NHL team to me is
MS> Edmonton and they have the
MS> lowest ticket prices in the NHL. I just want to see
MS> Canadian teams take over
MS> the NHL. That would rock! Having Canada at the top
MS> of the NHL like we used to
MS> be. Lowe jsut might come to Vancouver. Edmonton
MS> hasn't signed him yet and
MS> with Messier already on the Canucks... He would be
MS> a good addition to any
MS> team he goes on though. I heard that the Rangers
MS> offered Joe Sakic a 3 year
MS> deal worth 21 million! Including 15 million up
MS> front as a signing bonus!
I haven't heard anything about Lowe coming here to Vancouver, but it would be
nice. With the Canucks already having signed Messier, Ledyard, Irbe, and
Ohlund, Lowe would be the icing on the cake. I would really like to se
Canadian teams rule the NHL again. i hope that with the guys we just got,
Vancouver can be a cup contender again. They came close in 94, but with the
guys they have now, they might actually be able to do it. The deal that the
Rangers have offered Sakic is a $15 million signing bonus, and $2 million a
year for 3 years. It equals out to $21 million over three years. They put all
the money up this year so that the Avelanche will be less likely to be able
to match. I sure hope they do, I have been a Nordiques/Avelanche fan for
quite a few years (they are my favorite team other than Vancouver), and Sakic
is my favorite player. I hate the Rangers more than any other team, so I
would be really dissapointed to see Burnaby Joe go there.
