Oh yea, more ideas I left out on the Registration/Verification process.
ALL states voter rolls should be computer cross checked to find duplicate
registrations that should be questioned, such as the reported duplicate
names in Florida and NY, and Florida and Wisconsin, as well as other
states. People should be required to only register in one place. If
they're not sure where they will be, vote via absentee ballot. Right now,
each state is basically an island unto itself. Heck, even here in TN,
there's really no cross county checks to see if someone hasn't registered
in 2 counties at opposite ends of the state. They may own property at both
ends, but that doesn't entitle them to register and vote in each area.
While one could argue that they should be able to vote in local matters,
since they have property, but that opens the door to multiple votes on
national elections.
Voter rolls should be cross checked against US Postal records for invalid
mailing addresses. No "Parks" as mailing address, no Vacant
Lots, no "space between 2 houses that are 4 numbers apart", etc.
All SS numbers should be cross checked to assure that they are valid, and
match the voters name. Those that don't, should be contacted to clarify
who is who (identity theft would probably be helped by this too).
