| subject: | Amiga was Hibernate |
Hi! Holger, On Sun, 22 Sep 13, you wrote to me: HG> I still do feel sorry for the demise of tha Amiga. It had all HG> possibilities to become a world conquering operating system but all HG> Commodore machines at the time were in the minds of the public labeled HG> as playing machines. I did see one running during a visit to another sysop's home, back in the late-90s. He was running a hub of sorts on his Amiga system, feeding echomail to a number of Fidonet systems in Maryborough & Hervey Bay. (That's where I got the boot pic from.) After a nasty break-up with his fiancee, he trashed the computer system, sold the house, and, moved away to Brisbane. He went psycho and I never heard from him again, only stories of him from a user/mate. HG> Jean likes to read about the weather here so that's why I wrote it. :) Well, we're suffering the usual "cusp" that springtime in the southern latitudes brings. H-o-double-t days and comfortably-cool nights, still under the covers. The rain is thankfully holding off, though the emergency services (firies) aren't so thankful; summertime could turn into a bushfire nightmare. Cheers, Paul. ...
