DC>Actually, I just bought a CL-14! Your right, it doesn't have the
DC>cockpit depth of a Lido, but I find it more comfortable,
DC>especially for hiking out. Also, when the wind kick up, it's
DC>a lot faster. For me, the lower profile on the centerboard
DC>trunk makes it easier to tack and jibe.
DC>BTW, our sailing program uses Lidos. In fact, there's a 20+
DC>boat regatta of them over here today.
Well Dan, I seem to have found a Soling now I have to get serious
about thinking whether we will buy it or not! It belongs to the local
sailing school (actually to the owner of the sailing school) and he
wants 4500 for it....for the $4500, I get 27' Soling, trailer, 5hp OB, 2
mains, 2 jibs, 2 spinakkers, with pole, and certification classes for
wifey, daughter and me (we took the class 4 yrs ago so we NEED
refreshing ). In addition, we can even "lease" the boat back to the
sailing school/club to pay for moorage and a bit more....the present
owner will buy a new Soling to add to the school's armada . Sounds
like a pretty good deal....now I gotta talk Annie into it....AJay (now a
freshman in HS) is allready sold on the idea.
