OK, to get a good symbol rate, you need a wide audio bandwidth (300-3400 Hz with minimal roll-off). To get a good number of bits per symbol, you need a good signal to noise ratio (e.g. 38 dB). In your case you may have multiple PCM stages (Digital-Analogue-Digital conversions). 16800 bps isn't that uncommon on international V.34 calls. If the circuit has echo control devices not compliant with G.165 in it, all bets are off /-:. --- msgedsq 2.1* Origin: Camelot Swamp MJCNA, Hawthorndene, Sth Australia (3:800/812) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 620/243 623/630 624/300 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 SEEN-BY: 711/899 932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 2 409 414 415 422 427 SEEN-BY: 800/442 448 449 451 805 806 809 810 812 814 816 822 841 843 846 858 SEEN-BY: 850/100 7877/2809 @PATH: 800/812 1 711/808 809 934 |
