The silly result is because Geo's machine has the wrong time.
The key parameters are the message ID, which is assigned by the server, and
the 'References' header which indicates the message that prompted the new
message. So threading is established from the client's pov. In the case up
thread the messages are shown in the right order, with the dates that they
happen to carry.
