-=> Quoting Robert Wolfe to Nancy Backus on 03-17-09 16:29 <=- -> Email isn't exactly using the web... well, yes it uses the web, but what RW> Let me make a clarification here ... email uses the Internet for RW> transport, not 'the web' :) Sorry, just one of my pet peeves when RW> people refer to the Internet as a whole as "The Web." Ok... actually I realised I'd misspoken as soon as I'd sent the message... usually I'm peeved just as you are with that usage... I know I should have said something more like that "it uses the internet, which people confuse with the web, and which other people confuse with knowledge about both..." :) Actually, what I intended to say (I think) was "well, yes, it uses the Internet, just as using the web does" or something like that... I very rarely do much with the web in any form, just utilize the Internet for email and telnet mostly.... -> Nice that you have users that let you know when there are problems, -> too... I try to do that for my sysops, too... :) RW> Same here. It always made sense to me... being the eyes on the other side of the screen... :) ttyl neb ... MODEM?
