You and I and anyone with half a brain knows that, but software corporations
pad thier already inflated figures and claim they are cheated out of 1.5
billion dollars every year. They think that if piracy was somehow prevented
in a foolproof manner, that everyone who presently copies their software will
go out and buy all of that software. They might get a small increase in
revenue, but nowhere near 1.5 billion dollars. People can't afford the 
rices,
so they copy. If they can't copy, they go without. If you take $250 per 
itle,
at 1,000 illegal copies, they say you cheated them out of $250,000. But since
they don't get $250 from you are me and a few other people, they charge $300
per title to the people who can afford it. Now they get to say we cheated
them out of $300,000. See the magic? Instantly they 'lost' an additional
$50,000 and they get to write that off of their taxes. Over compensation is
a daily occurance in Silicon Valley. Again, you and I realize that these are
the facts, but people in general, like the above imbecile, fall for it all.
And a lot of them are in congress, and the IRS. Lovely life we all live
out-here on the electronic frontier. The Wild-West of the 90's meets the
Sherriff of the 20's, with an IQ in the 10's...
