EK> The Toaster is the way to go if into the video scene at all!
I'm glad this is still an understood obvious truth!
It's good to hear somebody else say this instead of just me. :-)
EK> This is great for someone doing only 8 tracks.
Don't get me wrong. I wasn't singing the praises of 8-track MIDI on a C64.
I was just making it known that such is possible because earlier somebody had
told me (memory fails me while I'm typing!) that they used to use a C64 for
MIDI stuff but it could only handle 4 channels or something like that. My
response was that such should only be a software limitation and not hardware.
After a little checking, I learned that in fact more than 4 *are* possible if
the heart of your machine is pumping the right kind of blood. I understand
that 8-tracks would not suffice for most folx. However, I only have 8-tracks
available on my Ensoniq EPS-16Plus keyboard too, and I've been able to coax
some pretty complex-sounding stuff out of it. It's all in the wrist.
EK> I don't think you'd try to do vidio on the 64 would you?
Funny you should ask! Actually I *am* doing just that! And when my first
6-hour VHS HiFi production is finally released, you'll be able to see it if
you so choose to procure for yourself a copy! It won't be anything
spectacular, because my videotape project is not of a video project. It's an
audio project. But since there is video capability inherent in the medium, I
ask "Why not throw in some incidental, accompanying video signals as well?!"
It's just to keep the whole thing more interesting to experience.
