I do threaded, by subject, and then just skip to Next Unread. That way,
all the conversations are grouped together, and it's easy in a whole
subject I want to skip, is scroll to the bottom of the particular subject,
shift-click on the last one, and then Ctrl-Q (mark all read) to clear all
of a subject that I'm not interested in.
