I don't "blame" it per se, it's just easy to understand that in
all that effort to make everything so user friendly, messing about with
time zones can lead to silly results. It's best handled by not handling it,
IMO.

The one that stores the message. We're on one single server here, right? At
least I thought we were. It shouldn't even be "sent" time but
"received", or rather "stored".

Hmmm, does not compute (I'm a bit tired). I'm constantly thinking that

a) someone sends a message. What time and timezone it is, is not important
at this point.

b) a server receives the message. BANG, there goes the timestamper, and now
the message has a timestamp.

c) I read the messages here, and the times should show what was the time at
the location where the message was stored at the moment when it was stored.

Right? So, if the messages appear in the proper order in the tree
structure, shouldn't they have their time stamps in the right order as
well? Or, is it possible to "reply" between other messages - that
I actually don't know, but I don't think it should (and isn't the case here
because we can follow whatever sad remains of logic there are in these
conversations).

Hmmm, I have a thought in my head now that I can't really get the hold of,
but suddenly I think I understand what you meant. Maybe. Could be...

Aw screw that, this isn't very important or even all that interesting, so
let's just call it a time warp and be happy ;-)
