subject: Expired Listing

From The T.I.E.&M. Shop...
Dear Stu,
SS> The Zone 1 Backbone only carries echoes listed in the Zone 1
SS> EchoList. It seems that the listing for this echo has expired.
SS> Thus, it will be necessary for someone to assume the moderatorship
ST> I sent Richard Blackburn netmail last month, reminding him about
ST> the EchoList update. He didn't acknowledge my message and, since
ST> we've received the notice from the Backbone Operations, apparently
ST> hasn't sent in the Update. I assume that SemWare is disconnected
ST> from the Echo (again).
ST> If no one objects, I will send in a update (listing Richard
ST> Blackburn as moderator) as soon as Blackburn's password expires.
ST> Or, would everyone prefer to have an election for a new
ST> moderator? Or at least a temporary acting co-moderator to serve
ST> until SemWare gets themselves undisconnected and checks back in?
Please do whatever is necessary to keep QEDIT on the backbone. We've not done
mych with it in the last year, but it's almost a PC institution, and it would
be as much a shame to see it expire as to see Washington's monument removed
just because he's taken out of the history text books! :)
I wish the shareware authors who leave would find a worthy successor to take
on the code the way they used to do it in the CP/M days, and early PC days.
SemWare is pursuing the "Iron Cross", and will likely find that it's pages
are empty.
See you.
Larry
