When I lived with my parents and I was older, after all of my sisters went
to bed, my mom would say quietly, "We'll buy if you fly."  What
that meant was that they wanted ice cream and that if I drove to the store
a short distance away, they'd pay for it and I could get some of what I
liked.

That went on for a few years before I moved back out, only to join the Army
a few short years later.  Now, fourteen years later, I live about five
miles from my parents...and when I go over there at night, they still ask
me that, even though it's just them now.
