| subject: | RE: `UNABLE TO TRAIN` FAX PROBLE |
G'day Nick, NB> I've never had any unsolvable problem with comms in Win95. Qmodem Pro NB> for Win95 seems to multitask "better" than most. Even Comit for NB> Win3.1 works fine under Win95. actually even Telix for DOS, NB> although you know what happens to the rest of the windows desktop when NB> you open a dos box Pleased to hear that your system's working OK. I do know some other fortunate Win95 users too, all using COOEE. However, I've got six friends who are rather p****d off with their new Win95 computers and their unreliable comms. Not just Netsurfing, all communications - BBS's, fax, direct dialups to my modem.... Even more galling, all six computers run Telix for DOS splendidly after booting from a DOS 3.3(!) floppy. It ain't a hardware problem. I've not had much luck trying to tweak their systems. Could you post me your Win95 configuration/initialization files via Netmail please? I have already compared the Win95/COOEE setups with the malfunctioning setups; there seem to be no significant differences. Would like to compare yours with theirs. I'm probably missing something extremely obvious which Microsoft didn't mention in the documentation :) thanks, Fraser ...
