Hehehe... that's pretty funny...  well I suppose if ya live in the boonies 
then there are needs for a bag phone that runs 3 watts....  but then you 
still have the problem of the 29.95 a month (using airtouch cellular 
service).  But
I suppose if I were driving/riding/walking ANYWHERE that was about 23 miles 
plus to the nearest phone or anything... it's a (LUXURY?) that I would have 
along for the 'ride'.
Oh yeah, about the cost of the calls...  with that 30 bucks, you are always 
given SOME time for the month... depending on what you are qualified for via 
associations and such. At least 30 minutes and up to about 60 minutes.
If ya use that for the FEW troubled times you may encounter... a long 
distance call, to me, would still be worth the money ventured....
Anyway.... have fun out there... I have to get ready for diving class this 
week... hehe
