The slower speed of the backup and scanner will drag down the speed
of the drives when those devices are being accessed.  I run my CD,
tape backup, & scanner on a different scsi card than I do my
drives.

All you need is an adapter to go from 68 down to what sounds like a
centronic's connector.  Make sure you assign a different scsi ID to
each device.
