Yup.  Nothing like having the facts to puncture the family stories and
to deflate family pride...   I must say though, that Granma took it
well when I had to break it to her that her Dedericks were German not
Dutch...  :)  There had always been that edge of pride when she'd tell
us that they were Dutch, not German, although she had married a German. 
She did, of course, have some* Dutch heritage there, in that line...
just not the main line.  :)
