The 80x86, and 16 bit compilers, are limited to, at _most_ 64k of stack.
That's true regardless of the memory model because it's a limitation of
the 8086 segmented architecture.
You could use a global variable in the huge model, but you can't do it
on the stack.
And even for 64k of stack, you'll have to specifically set the stack
size, because TC gives, what, 4k? by default.
