SC>> Is there a lot of that over there? My ex's family would have a SC>> heart attack if they found out English blood was mixed with their SC>> Irish blood, or any other blood in fact. They pride themselves on SC>> being pure Irish. I'm gonna havta start doing their family SC>> history again. hehehe NB> Yup. Nothing like having the facts to puncture the family stories and NB> to deflate family pride... I must say though, that Granma took it NB> well when I had to break it to her that her Dedericks were German not NB> Dutch... :) There had always been that edge of pride when she'd tell NB> us that they were Dutch, not German, although she had married a NB> German. She did, of course, have some* Dutch heritage there, in that NB> line... just not the main line. :) If my uncle wouldn't have found the French (very small amount) in our family I would have never known. I found out some other things from that history he did too. I didn't know my grandfather was once a politician. He was a councilman in the borough I live in now. There were some other things too that I was surprised about. I found out that most of the rest of the family didn't even read this history which would upset my uncle very much. He spent a lot of time and money getting it together. I know that I appreciate it and told him so. He sends us updates on births and deaths in the family to add to the books.
