Greetings Lewin,
LE>that you get a parallel cable. Before I managed to find time to get to a
LE>store that sold one, I had _enormous_ trouble with LL3 in OS/2. I never

The version I was running was apparently proprietary to NEC and
supplied on disk to facilitate connections with the original UltraLite
notebook. The notebook has LapLink burned into ROM along with DOS 3.3.
At any rate, I could never get LL NU-2.01 to connect while running in
OS/2, the only solution was to get a later version of LL and make a
stripped down installation on UltraLite.
I ended up getting a copy of LapLink 5, did a full install on the
base computer running Warp 3.0 and put a stripped installation on one of
the UltraLite's 512k RAM storage cards. LapLink 5 works _perfectly_ in
a VDM window from the OS/2 desktop! I can make serial connections at
115k bps! The default settings for the VDM did not have to be changed
either.
LE>Parallel works fine without any of this tweakery.
This is what others have indicated. However I cannot make parallel
connections with the original NEC UltraLite since it has no built in
parallel port! This is why the insistance on serial connections.
Thanks,
Greg
