Ha ha ha! You sound like me!!! I had to show my husband your
statement about your "strainer thingie"... I say stuff like that all the time
and get a lot of "guff" for it! '-)

I can't believe you've never tried beef-jerky!!! It was one of the
first things I ever did with my food dehydrator! It's great... although it
melted my first dehydrator's trays... Oh well! It was a cheap model anyway!
What did I expect! Yeah... It's really easy to do! Just have your local
meat cutter slice what ever meat's on sale really thin... marinate it in a
soy sauce based marinade (try over night)... and put it on your trays and
leave it in there until it feels leathery... It's great!
