Apparently we have the final source on who authenticated the national guard
documents for Dan Rather.

It was none other than Ed Murrow's ghost!!

I've seen him and talked to him on the third floor of this building many
times late at night. And I can tell you that he's watching over us."


Could explain why Danny was so hard headed about his forged documents.  Mr.
Ed (the ghost) told him the documents were good, and I understand Mr. Ed
also gave him the frequency.
