Yep, there's a lot of talk about that in the local press. This year and
also in 2003 the big companies didn't invest as much as they could have,
including on pollution reducing devices / methods, and some of that was
because the company tax laws were tightened a bit taking effect at the end
of this year, so many companies have been hogging cash and are expected to
give ridiculous bonuses to their owners right before the year ends because
next year it would cost them like 1% more taxes. Everyone had good
intentions in the start, but greed took over (well a big surprise there).
Remains to be seen if next year will be a more "normal" year, and
more money will be invested in reducing pollution.
