Hello Will,
Replying to a message of Will Honea to Alec Herrmann:
WH> Alec, you seem to be a likely source for an answer to this: Can I use
WH> the remote install process from a machine running Merlin to upgrade a
WH> second machine (with Connect, now) or do I need Server (Warp or LS)
You can use Warp 4.0 (Merlin) on the source machine to install Warp 4.0 on a
second remote machine via network cable.
WH> on the source machine? I tried, but I keep getting messed up with
WH> the Attach process and wind up not being able to find the server.
1) Start the INSTALL.CMD program on your Warp 4.0 CD. Pick a drive (ie C:)
for the installation program.
2) Go thru the steps for installing on a _remote_ computer. When asked for a
network card type, choose/install the one matching the network card on the
_remote_ computer.
3) You will be asked if you want to make a set of installation disks - yes,
do this. You will then be asked to boot the installation disks on the remote
computer. The rest should be straightforward.
WH> I'm trying to figure this one out before I make a damned fool of
WH> myself at a clients office!
Let's hope your client does not read this echo conference!
Regards, Alec
