See, something else to clip & save when I go through 150 or so saved
message packets to harvest guitar stuff. Except I sold the Ibanez 12 for
$200 to Dennis the Actual Band Guitarist. He'd prob. sell it back if I
traded him the Pro Reverb for his Super Reverb--which he's tired of
lugging to gigs. A 30's Stella 12 will only set me back $3000...
I heard that one factor in the Byrds' sound was that McGuinn strang his
Rick 12 with the string pairs reversed. Don't know where I heard that
--maybe here.
GS> Have you tried White Bronze?
Why does this remind me of the little girl's butt in the old, old
Coppertone ads?
GS> Now playing: "Can't Let Her Go" by Robben Ford
Hey, that ridiculously-expensive Ford video has "Born Under a Bad Sign" on
it! (speaking of ridiculous, I haven't watched it yet) When I heard him
guesting on the local PBS radio station, they played that tune off
whatever CD (I've got 3, incl. that one), and I said "Gotta have it".
Don't know whether or not you read VG, but this month's has an article
about the short-lived Fender Master Series, incl. that Elite or whatever
that he played & endorsed. I had been puzzled back when I bought one of
his records--looking at him holding that thing and saying, "It looks like
a Gibson, but it says Fender on the headstock!". I had learned of the
Elite before the VG article, but of course learned a bunch more there.
