Course what they really needed (as was/is the joke) was the Foreign &
Colonial Office vs the more PC Foreign & Commonwealth Office as this
was a colonial war fought while having to maintain a pretense that it was
not & thus all std "tried & tested" colonial techniques
were rejected because.."this is not a colonial operation"....

He sounds like a good lad from a number of accounts. Like I say...let's
hope he's lucky.
Main thing will be if the Iraqi mil will take on Sadr & Badr or just Sadr.
