Make all sticks the same size. If you don't then your motherboard can't
use the raid striping thing they do on ram these days. That is, all
data can get put on every stick at the same time. with two sticks, this
can double the ram performance. For example, when I moved from my last
MB to my new MB, the new ram was about 5 times faster than the old ram.
The actual performance more then doubled. I had a 512 and a 256 in the
old board so my ram speed was limited to what it could read from one
stick at a time. The new board has two 1 gig sticks. Due to them
being the same size, the system is able to spread the data accross both
sticks. While the spec for the new memory is about five times better
then the old sticks, the measured performance was more then ten times
faster.

In short, if your MB can strip your data accross all three sticks, three
333 stick might out perform two 400 sticks.

And no, I can't remember what my MB called this feature. I suspect this
is one of those things that has several names depending on who wrote the
bios.
